  • Cannon India: Digital imaging firm Canon India announced the appointment of Kazutada Kobayashi as the new President and CEO of the company. (23 Jan 2012)
  • Research in Motion: RIM has announced it has replaced co-CEOs Mike Lazaridis and Jim Balsillie with Thorsten Heins, the current chief operating officer. (22 Jan 2012)
  • Yahoo has announced their new CEO, Scott Thompson, the President of PayPal. Thompson starts his new job at Yahoo on January 9th. He replaces the interim CEO, Tim Morse, who will go back to his position as the CFO. (5th Jan 2012)

  • Intelliverse, a cloud-based communications provider for businesses, announced today the appointment of Mr. K.V. Gopalakrishnan (KVG), as Chief Executive Officer for Intelliverse Telecom India. In this role, KVG will oversee the strategic direction of the Company in India as provider of a complete, hosted cloud-based platform that integrates IVR, ACD and IP telephony into one solution.   • Pravin Shah, Mahindra & Mahindra’s international operations head will take a new role of Chief Executive – Automotive Sector with effect from February 1, 2012. Shah, who has so far spent 30 years at M&M, will replace Rajesh Jejurikar, who has moved from M&M to Zee network. During his stint at M&M, Shah has handled key assignments in the functions of finance and IT systems within the automotive and tractor businesses as well as other parts of the Group. (12 Jan 2012)
  • Pharma major Glenmark Pharmaceuticals has appointed Sandeep Gupta as Chief Operating Officer ( COO) and Michael Buschle as Chief Scientific Officer (CSO). Gupta will be based at Glenmark’s Corporate Headquarters in Mumbai and will be responsible for the company’s branded generics business and operational aspects including quality, projects, distribution and supply chain for Glenmark pharmaceuticals.   • Godrej Properties has appointed Executive Director Pirojsha Godrej as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer with effect from April 1. Milind Korde, the incumbent Managing Director, has resigned for personal reasons and will step down from his post on March 31, the company said in a statement. (20 Jan 2012)
  • Vivek Kundra joins Salesforce.com as EVP-Emerging Markets. Enterprise cloud computing giant Salesforce.com said it has roped in Vivek Kundra as Executive Vice-President for Emerging Markets. “Vivek Kundra is an amazing technology visionary who opened the eyes of millions to the transformational power of cloud computing,” salesforce.com Chairman and CEO Marc Benioff said.(19 Jan 2012)
  • Mr Viren Sinha has taken over as the Chairman and Managing Director of Balmer Lawrie & Co Ltd, effective January 1. Prior to his appointment as the chairman, Mr Sinha was director (service businesses), overseeing the tours and travel and logistics businesses of the company. Mr P.P. Sahoo has also been elevated to the board as the director (human resources and corporate affairs), effective December 14, 2011.
  • Lloyds Banking Group has hired Richard Moore, former chief executive of collapsed U.S. brokerage MF Global in Europe, as its head of trading, the part-nationalised British bank said. Moore joined MF Global in April 2011 after spending 22 years at Citigroup, including as head of fixed income for Europe. He will report to Andrew Geczy, Lloyds’ CEO of wholesale banking and markets.
