Donna Morris from Adobe is Walmart Inc.’s new Chief People Officer

Donna Morris from Adobe has joined Walmart Inc., as Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer. She will be a part of the executive committee and will be responsible for attracting, retaining and developing talent for the company.

Donna is a seasoned HR professional with over 20 years in senior and leadership level HR roles. She has been at Adobe for about 17 years, and has handled a wide range of HR operations, talent management, employee experience and customer experience roles.

Most recently she was the Chief Human Resources Officer and Executive Vice President, Employee Experience for Adobe, based at San Francisco. In this role she led human resources, real estate and security operations for over 20,000 employees across 75 locations around the globe. She has also been a Board Member of Adobe Foundation, and presently serves on the Board of Directors of Marvell Semiconductor.

Last week, Adobe had announced the exit of Donna Morris, and movement of Executive Vice President Gloria Chen into the CHRO role. In his statement on her exit Shantanu Narayen, President and CEO, Adobe, said, “A pioneer of progressive workplace policies, Donna has been a role model of our values and her leadership has been instrumental in making Adobe a great place to work. We wish her well.”

In his statement on LinkedIn announcing her joining, Doug McMilon, President & CEO at Walmart Inc., mentioned: “Excited to welcome Donna Morris to the team as our Chief People Officer! Her passion for people and two decades of leadership experience will be invaluable as we all work together to deliver for customers and create opportunities for our associates. She joins us from Adobe, where she served as Chief Human Resources Officer and Executive Vice President of Employee Experience. Please join me in welcoming Donna to Walmart.”

Donna holds the SHRM – Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), Senior HR Professional (SHRP) and Canadian Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) certifications.  She has earlier been on SHRM Board of Directors. She has been awarded the Women of Influence 2017 by Silicon Valley Business Journal and in 2016, California Diversity Council had ranked her among the Top 50 Most Powerful Women in Technology.
