UCO Bank Limited announced the appointment of Aravamudan Krishna Kumar as a part-time Non-Official Director and Non-Executive Chairman on the company’s Board, with effect from February 21, 2024.
According to the Bank’s exchange filing, “This is to inform that in exercise of the powers conferred under clause (h), of subsection (3) of section 9 of the Banking Companies (Acquisition and Transfer of Undertakings) Act, 1970, read with paragraph 5(1) and 9(2)(b) of the Nationalized banks (Management and Miscellaneous Provisions) Scheme, 1970, the Central Government, vide Notification F.no.6/26(iii)/2023-BO.I dated 21.02.2024 has appointed Shri Aravamudan Krishna Kumar (DOB: 18.11.1954) as part-time Non-Official Director as well as Non-Executive Chairman, on the Board of UCO Bank, for a term of three years, from the date of notification, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.”
Aravamudan Krishna Kumar (Aged 69) is B.A.(Hons) in Economics from Delhi University and Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB).
Aravamudan Krishna Kumar has had a long and distinguished career of 39 years at State Bank of India. He served as the Managing Director of the State Bank of India for the period April, 2011 – November, 2014.
He has also been on the Board of several reputed companies such as Central Depository Services (India) Limited, Andhra Bank, Rural Electrification Corporation Limited, SBI Life Insurance Company Limited, SBI Commercial and International Bank Limited, SBI Cap Securities Limited, SBI General Insurance Company Limited, SBI Cards and Payment Services Limited to name a few.
At present he is a professional/Independent director on the Board of several companies such as SBI Payment Services Private Limited, MTAR Technologies Limited, Sathguru Catalyser Advisors Private Limited, TVS Wealth Private Limited to name a few.
