Scott Thompson has quit Yahoo as the CEO after a four month stint. In the first week of May , he had been accused by an investor activist – Daniel Loeb for adding false credentials in his resume regarding his college degree. Loeb is the CEO of Third Point LLC, one of the largest share holders of Yahoo ! having about 5.8 % in the company. Loeb had actively been seeking his termination as well board position for Third Point nominees.
Yahoo Inc, has appointed its media chief – Ross Levinsohn as an interim CEO. As a parallel development Third Point gets three seats on the Yahoo board. The reasons for Scott Thompson has not been released by the company.
