HCL Tech to hire 20,000 people in next quarters: CEO Vijayakumar

HCL Technologies (HCL) is planning to onboard 20,000 people in the next four to six months in-order to meet the demand.

With 1,59,682 employees at the end of December 31, 2020, the IT services major help empower global enterprises with technology for the next decade today.

“There was a net hiring of over 6,500 people in Q3 (third quarter). There is a big demand pipeline and so, we are continuing to hire both freshers and lateral talent to fulfil the demand,” said C Vijayakumar, President and CEO, HCL Technologies.

He further added, “I foresee about 20,000 people to be hired – both freshers and laterals – in the next 4-6 months based on the demand that we have seen”.

HCL offers its services and products through three business units – IT and Business Services (ITBS), Engineering and R&D Services (ERS) and Products & Platforms (P&P). ITBS claim that it enables global enterprises to transform their businesses through offerings in areas of Applications, Infrastructure, Digital Process Operations and next generational digital transformation solutions. ERS offers engineering services and solutions in all aspects of product development and platform engineering while under P&P, HCL provides modernized software products to global clients for their technology and industry specific requirements.

As of 12 months ended September 30, 2020, HCL has a consolidated revenue of US$ 9.95 billion and its 153,085 ideapreneurs operate out of 50 countries.
