NLC India Limited announced the appointment of Samir Swarup as Director (Human Resources), with effect from February 27, 2023.
According to the company’s exchange filing, “Ministry of Coal, Government of India, vide its letter No. 21/7/2022- ESTABLISHMENT dt. 20.02.2023, has conveyed the approval of President of India for the appointment of Shri Samir Swarup as Director (Human Resources) of the Company for a period of five years with effect from the date of his assumption of charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.”
Swarup prior to joining NLC India Limited, was serving as Executive Director (P&A) at the Corporate Office of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL). He was responsible for the entire Personnel and Administration stream and has harmoniously handled the complexities of the various Human Resource functions.
He is a Post Graduate in Political Science and also has an MBA in Human Resource Management.
Swarup had started his career in the year 1991, in SAIL. During his professional journey of more than three decades, he has contributed in all the domain areas of Human Resources ranging from Recruitment, Industrial Relations, Organization Development, Shop Floor HR and CSR. Apart from Corporate Office, he has served at various units of SAIL, namely, Alloy Steels Plant at Durgapur, Bokaro Steel Plant at Bokaro and Central Marketing Organization of SAIL at Kolkata. He has also served in the Vigilance Branch of SAIL.
In addition, he also served as a Director in Indian Iron and Steel Sector Skill Council, an organization mandated under National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).
NLC India Limited is a central public sector undertaking under the administrative control of the Ministry of Coal, Government of India.
