The government owned engineering and manufacturing company has announced appointment of Ms Renuka Gera as its Director (Industrial Systems & Products) from December 1, 2020.
She has been appointed as the Director on the board of BHEL till the date of her superannuation (August 31, 2023), or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Before assuming charge as the Director, Ms Gera was the Executive Director of BHEL’s Industry sector business segment.
Ms Gera is an Electronics and Communication engineering graduate from Delhi College of Engineering. She joined BHEL as an Engineer Trainee in the company’s Transmission Business Group in 1984.
She has an experience of more than 36 years in various verticals of the industry sector segment. She has worked across the board in areas including marketing, Business Development, Engineering, Contract & Project Management, HR, Administration, Planning, Finance and Legal, besides serving in BHEL’s Bhopal manufacturing unit for five years.
During her career, she has been involved in various projects. One of them is related to HVDC (high voltage direct current) and was Project Manager of one of the largest HVDC multi-terminal projects in India.
Earlier, she was sponsored by the BHEL for an an International Certification Programme in Business Management conducted under the aegis of the Department of Public Enterprises.
According to the statement by the PSU, Ms Gera replaced S Balakrishnan as the Director who attained the age of superannuation on November 30, 2020.
