IIM Sambalpur is taking steps towards achieving AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) accreditation, aiming to align its business and management education with international quality standards. The institute recently hosted AACSB officials on its campuses in New Delhi and Sambalpur as part of this initiative.

Prof. Teguh Dartanto from Universitas Indonesia, designated as IIM Sambalpur’s AACSB Mentor, engaged with various stakeholders, including the Director, students, alumni, and corporate recruiters, during his visit from July 27th to 31st. These interactions are intended to facilitate the institute’s understanding and adoption of AACSB’s quality benchmarks. Prof. Teguh’s visit also involved an academic assessment and the development of a roadmap for the Initial Self-Evaluation Report (iSER).

In a related development, Prathap Das, Regional Head – South Asia, AACSB, formally presented the AACSB Membership Certificate to Prof. Mahadeo Jaiswal, Director, IIM Sambalpur, on July 28th at the Delhi campus. This ceremony marks the formal commencement of IIM Sambalpur’s global accreditation process.

Prof. Mahadeo Jaiswal stated, “IIM Sambalpur is committed towards excellence with global standard in its education program and is aggressively moving towards AACSB, which is a global top accreditation in management education. We welcome Prof. Teguh, from Indonesian University as our mentor in the AACSB journey, are really committed towards achieving all global accreditation standards.”

Discussions during these visits covered various AACSB standards, including strategic goals, faculty qualifications, learner success measures, research influence, learning assurance, and the institution’s approach to social relevance.

During his campus tour, Prof. Teguh acknowledged IIM Sambalpur’s facilities and teaching methods. He noted the institute’s efforts to promote local entrepreneurship through initiatives like the “Master Weaver training program.”

Prof. Teguh remarked, “I am impressed by IIM Sambalpur’s steady progress and strong commitment to continuous improvement. As a new-generation IIM, they bring unique strengths, most notably their innovative integration of Artificial Intelligence into teaching and learning. This reflects a bold and forward-looking academic vision. I have offered a few general suggestions, such as ensuring that all stakeholders remain engaged in the AACSB journey. With their clarity of purpose and collaborative spirit, I am confident IIM Sambalpur is on the right path and will soon achieve AACSB accreditation.”
