Gurugram-based edtech startup Yellow Class raises pre-Series A funding led by India Quotient

Education-technology startup Yellow Class has raised $1.3 million in a pre-Series A funding round led by India Quotient, an early stage investor. India Quotient fund companies building disruptive businesses aimed at Indian consumers.

Other participants that participated in the funding round are Snapdeal founders Kunal Bahl and Rohit Bansal, Indifi founder Alok Mittal, Oyo executives Maninder Gulati and Abhinav Sinha, Bounce co-founder Vivekananda Hallekere, and Xiaomi’s Alvin Tse.

PropTiger’s Dhruv Agarwala, Knowlarity’s Pallav Pandey, and angel investors Harpreet Singh Grover and Vibhore Goyal also took part in this round.

Founded in early 2020 by Arpit Mittal and Anshul Gupta, Yellow Class is a new-age fun-learning platform where kids between 2-12 years can learn from a wide range of classes like dancing, drawing, personality development, creative writing and so on. The company claims that more than two lakh users from several countries have joined its platform since its inception.

It will use the capital it has raised to expand its offering and product development, Gupta said. “We aim to reach a community of 2 million members by 2021 and this funding round will help us inch towards our goal,” Mittal added.

Separately, India Quotient partner Gagan Goyal said the firm was confident of its investment in Yellow Class owing to the organic traction and growth of its platform.
