Wipro, global information technology, consulting and business process services company, is all set to roll out salary hikes for its junior employees (B3 and below) who are eligible, effective January 1, 2021. The junior band i.e. upto B3 comprises of 80% of its total 1.8 lakh employees.
The employees at the mid-level i.e. C1 and above, who are eligible, will also be receiving salary hikes from June 1, 2021. With the hike range of 6-8 per cent for offshore employees and 3-4 per cent for onsite employees.
The employees at the mid-level have missed one appraisal cycle due to the pandemic’s effect on the IT firm.
In a response to TOI, the company said – “Our employees have shown remarkable resolve and resilience in ensuring seamless business continuity and maintaining high standards of service in these challenging times. Wipro has announced 100% variable pay linked to business metrics for all employees for both the third quarter (October-December) and the fourth quarter (January-March) of financial year 2020-21.”
This is followed by the payment of 100 per cent variable pay for the July-September quarter. Earlier, the firm has also announced promotions for high performing employees in the B3 band from December 1. “Close to 7,000 employees in bands up to B3 have been promoted,” the firm added.
