Talent evaluation company SHL has acquired Aspiring Minds, a Gurugram and San Jose-based AI-powered test and assessment venture, in a largely all-cash deal. SHL is the global leader in talent innovation, and acquiring a pioneering talent evaluation leader Aspiring Minds will bring wider availability of a globally proven portfolio of innovative products.
Aspiring Minds was founded in 2008 by Himanshu and Varun Aggarwal. Since then, the company has grown rapidly, counting more than 100 of the global Fortune 500 among its more than 3,000 customers worldwide. Its groundbreaking products are driven by industry-leading AI-powered talent assessment and interviewing solutions, spanning a portfolio that includes coding, language, video interview and skills tests. The company has a 500+ people strong organization with operations in the US, China, India, Middle East, Philippines and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Andy Bradshaw, CEO of SHL commented on the acquisition. He said, “This acquisition infuses Aspiring Minds’ advanced AI technology throughout SHL’s portfolio at a platform level and will leverage our rigorous science to enable the technical, emerging and leadership talent required for our 10,000-plus customers to succeed in the digital era.”

The deal is expected to close in November. However, the terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
