BHEL and its employees commit Rs15.72 cr to the PM-CARES fund

Companies across the public and private sector are joining the fight against the coronavirus pandemic in India and across the world. All big industrialists in India have contributed to the PM-CARES fund, leaving no stone unturned in helping the government to deal with the crisis Covid-19 has created. BHEL, India’s largest power generation manufacturer, announced that the company and its employees will donate Rs 15.72 crore to the PM-CARES fund.

According to their press statement, “Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) and its employees have come forward to wholeheartedly help the nation in the fight against the Novel Coronavirus, COVID19. Aimed at extending a helping hand to alleviate the effects of this pandemic, BHEL has made a contribution of Rs.7 Crore through its CSR funds, while its employees have made a humble contribution of donating their one-day’s salary to the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM-CARES Funda). To bolster the fight against this unprecedented medical emergency, a total amount of Rs15.72 Crore has been transferred to the PM-CARES Fund by BHEL.”

“BHEL is fully geared up to offer assistance in whatever way possible to the nation’s determination in combating this calamity and will keep stepping up its efforts in this direction,”the company added.
