Singapore Airlines names Chen Sy Yen as General Manager for India

Singapore Airlines has appointed Chen Sy Yen as its new General Manager for India. According to the release, Yen’s appointment to the post stands effective from November 29. He will oversee all operations in India for the airline.

Yen will succeed David Lim and will be based out of Mumbai – Singapore Airlines’ head office for India operations, the company stated.

Under his new role as General Manger for India, he is responsible for nurturing SIA’s global vision while ensuring the fruition of the company’s business objectives in the country, the airline added.

He was most recently the General Manager for Germany, Switzerland & Austria at Frankfurt since 2017.

Chen Sy Yen commented – “Despite the current COVID-19 scenario, the aviation industry in India exhibits immense promise. And as General Manager India I look forward to contributing my expertise to the continued success story of the airline.”

He has held various key positions at the SIA head office in Singapore and at overseas markets – including the US, Japan, Malaysia and Europe in the period of 27 years with the company.
