Techmer PM has named Craig Nikrant as its new Chief Executive Officer. Nikrant, who has served as Executive Chair of the company’s board, steps into the role following the departure of Michael A. McHenry.
The leadership change comes as the materials company continues to evolve under the ownership of private equity firm Gryphon Investors. Nikrant is a seasoned executive with decades of experience in the specialty materials sector. He joined Gryphon in 2018 and currently serves as a full-time Operating Partner. Earlier in his career, he held senior roles at GE Plastics and PolyOne (now Avient), where he led the Global Specialty Engineered Materials division through a period of significant growth and transformation.
“Craig is deeply familiar with advanced materials and specialty chemicals as well as the specific dynamics of Techmer PM’s business,” said Leigh Abramson, Co-CIO at Gryphon. “His record of managing strategic expansion at industrial companies makes him an ideal choice to steer the Company.”
Nikrant has chaired Techmer PM’s board for nearly three years and also serves on the boards of several other Gryphon portfolio companies. His appointment is expected to align with Techmer’s ongoing focus on innovation and market growth across technology-driven industries.
Techmer PM, founded in 1981, develops engineered materials and polymer solutions for a wide range of applications including additive manufacturing, blown film, and injection molding. The company operates manufacturing facilities across North America.
