Airtel appoints former Vodafone Idea executive Rahul Vatts as Chief Regulatory Officer

Indian telecom major Bharti Airtel has recently confirmed the appointment of Rahul Vatts as the company’s Chief Regulatory Officer. 

Indian telecom major Bharti Airtel has recently confirmed the appointment of Rahul Vatts as the company’s Chief Regulatory Officer.

According to sources, in his new position Vatts will directly report to Gopal Vittal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer – India and South Asia of Bharti Airtel.

Confirming the development, a company official said, “In this role, Rahul will lead the regulatory function and implement practices that comply with the regulatory framework across all lines of business.”

Prior to this, Vatts was with Vodafone Idea Ltd., where he was executive vice president – Regulatory and Corporate Affairs. He comes with over 25 years of experience and has previously worked with Idea cellular and AT&T.

Vatts will replace Bharti Airtel’s former regulatory officer Ravi Gandhi who had quit the position last month.
