Anil Ambani’s sons exit board of Reliance Infrastructure

Anil Ambani’s sons Jai Anmol Ambani and Jai Anshul Ambani have resigned as members of the board of Reliance Infrastructure. The reason for stepping down remains undisclosed.

As per the company’s exchange filing, Jai Anmol Ambani and Jai Anshul Ambani ceased to be on the board from January 31. There is no news of them playing any active role in the company. A company spokesperson declined to comment on the reason behind the quick exit, stating, “the management has not shared any reason with us.”

Anmol and Anshul were appointed Directors on the board of Reliance Infrastructure in October 2019, after shareholders of the company urged Chairman Ambani to give the sons more active roles in the company. The appointments were made when Reliance Infrastructure was facing losses and trying to recast debt.

Prior to his appointment as a Director at Reliance Infrastructure, Anmol was an Executive Director at Reliance Capital since 2016, where he was overseeing the financial services businesses. Anshul joined the Reliance Group in January 2019 after completing his undergraduate degree in business management from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
