Aster DM Healthcare Limited announced the re-appointment of Dr. Layla Mohamed Hassan Ali Almarzooqi to its Board of Directors, effective March 28, 2022.
According to the company’s exchange filing, “We wish to inform you that, upon recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, the Board of Directors of the Company, at its meeting held today, February 08, 2022 have re-appointed Dr. Layla Mohamed Hassan Ali Almarzooqi (DIN: 08401425) as Non-Executive Independent Director of the Company for a second term of one year with effect from March 28, 2022, subject to approval of the shareholders.”
Dr. Layla Mohamed Hassan Ali Almarzooqi is a medical professional with over 20 years of experience in clinical and medical administration. She had obtained a bachelor’s degree in Science (MB BCH. LRCP&SI) from The Royal College of Surgeons Ireland in 1999. Thereafter, she obtained General internal medical professional certificate from The Royal College of Physicians Ireland.
She also holds a master’s degree in Cardiovascular Rehabilitation the University of Chester UK and Executive Master’s in Healthcare Administration from UAE along with Diploma in Healthcare Leadership and PhD in Public Health from UAE university. She has worked closely with prestigious hospitals across Ireland and Dubai, with the Health Regulation Department and Health Tourism Department in Dubai Health Authority. She was the first woman and UAE national to be appointed as the President of Global Healthcare Travel Council in the year 2017.
Dr. Layla had made various presentation at medical conferences in Melbourne, UAE, Dubai, Middle East, London, Paris, Portugal and Canada to name a few. She has also served as Chair of conference and the scientific committee-First Dubai health regulation conference in the middle east, Chair of the third Arab conference, Member in organizing committee for World Cardiology congress Dubai, Member of the physician assessment committee at the International Association for Medical regulatory authorities (IAMRA), Lecturer in many medical colleges and universities in the UAE, Head of UAE delegations in several international conferences, exhibition and roadshows, etc.
