Bank of India appoints Bhushan Kumar Sinha to its Board

Bank of India announced the appointment of Bhushan Kumar Sinha to its Board, with effect from April 11, 2022.

According to the company’s exchange filing, “this is to inform that Government of India vide their notification dated 11th April, 2022, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of sub-section (3) of section 9 of The Banking Companies (Acquisition and Transfer of Undertakings) Act, 1970, has nominated Shri Bhushan Kumar Sinha, (Joint Secretary, Government of India, Ministry of Finance, Department of Financial Services) as a Government Nominee Director on the Board of Bank of India with immediate effect and until further orders, in place of existing Government Nominee Director Ms. Vandita Kaul.”

Bhushan Kumar Sinha, was appointed as Government of India Nominee Director in Bank of India from 11.04.2022. He belongs to the 1993 batch of Indian Economic Service. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the National Graduate School of Management (NGSM), Australian National University, Canberra, Australia and a Ph.D from the Department of Financial Studies, University of Delhi, India.

Presently, he is posted as Joint Secretary in the Department of Financial Services (DFS), Ministry of Finance, Government of India, New Delhi. Before joining DFS in 2018, he had a three year stint as Economic Adviser in the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM). He was on the Board of Central Bank of India as GOI Nominee Director w.e.f 14.05.2018 till 11.04.2022.
