State-run Bharat Dynamics Limited announced the appointment of Jaswant Lal Sonkar as Non-Official Independent Director on the company’s Board, with effect from February 24, 2023.
According to the company’s exchange filing, “we further wish to inform you that Ministry of Defence, Department of Defence Production, Government of India vide its Office Memorandum No.DDP-M0001(11)/1/2018/D(BDL) dated 24.02.2023, has conveyed the approval for the appointment of Shri Jaswant Lal Sonkar (DIN10055098) as Non-Official Independent Director on the Board of BDL w.e.f from 24 February 2023, upon receipt of his Director Identification Number (DIN) on 23.02.2023 as per the provisions of Companies Act, 2013.”
Headquartered in Hyderabad, Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), was incorporated on 16 July, 1970 as a Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India to be the manufacturing base for guided missile systems and allied equipment for the Indian Armed Forces.
