Brightcom Group appoints Meghana Musunuri to its Board

Brightcom Group Limited, the global Internet brand, announced the appointment of Meghana Musunuri as Additional (Independent) Director of the company, with effect from January 21, 2024.

According to the company’s exchange filing, “we would like to inform you that based on the recommendation of the Board and considering the interaction with other Board Members, the Board of Directors of the Company approved the appointment of Ms. Meghana Musunuri (DIN #10462366) as an Additional (Independent) Director of the Company for a term of five years with effect from January 21, 2024, subject to the approval of shareholders in their forthcoming Annual General Meeting of the Company.”

Meghana Musunuri, an accomplished entrepreneur and visionary in the field of education, has garnered widespread recognition for her multifaceted achievements. Born and raised in India, she pursued her higher education in London and gained professional experience before returning to India. Her endeavors encompass both societal improvement initiatives and impactful business ventures, as per the statement.

As a distinguished panelist at the UN Water Conference 2023 in New York, Meghana shared her experiences guiding her school students to contribute to the Blue Economy, even from Hyderabad, a noncoastal area. Her contributions to education earned global acclaim when she was selected as one of the top 50 finalists for the Global Teacher Prize 2021 by Varkey Foundation. Meghana’s commitment to sustainable development was acknowledged with the SUNFO Ayuboowan title at the Sustainable Development Decade Summit 2021. She has also received numerous awards recognizing her leadership, including the Global Edu Icon Award 2023 and the Acharya Devo Bhava 2023 Award.

Meghana is the Founder and Chairperson of the Bodhivriksha Educational Society, Fountainhead Global School & Junior College, and My Edu Guru Services. Under her leadership, Fountainhead Global School has received accolades and recognition from industry experts, becoming the first Indian school acknowledged by Google for Education.

Apart from her educational pursuits, Meghana actively engages in philanthropy through initiatives like the NGO Save Water And Nature (SWAN) and the talk show ‘Common Sense Talks.’ SWAN focuses on water and nature conservation, and Meghana’s hands-on approach includes projects like the revival of Meedikunta Lake in Hyderabad.
