CMS, India’s largest Cash Management and Payment Solutions firm, has appointed Rohit Kilam as its new CTO, according to ETCIO report. Kilam will be reporting to the CEO Rajiv Kaul.
CMS Info Systems handles cash processing to cash-in-transit, from cards to ATM network management, retail management and managed services.
In this new role, Kilam will be responsible for ongoing technology initiatives and exploring new innovations for the business growth.
“I am very excited to join CMS and will be leading the technology functions. CMS has a heritage of a traditional cash management business but is now revamping the model with digital capabilities. I will be focusing on digital + physical transformation of the company. We manage over 5000 crores cash daily and the critical processes are now becoming technology driven. In terms of fundamental technology, we are on Azure and will be exploring cloud use cases further. My primary focus from new technologies will be on Machine learning and IoT. We are already in the process of developing innovative use cases with these technologies,” Kilam told ETCIO.
Prior to this new role, Kilam was associated with Aditya Birla Finance where he has served a stint of 4 years and has moved out as Head- Technology & Digital. He is a multifaceted leader with over 20 years of experience working on strategic roles across India, US, UK, Denmark, UAE and Vietnam. He has been successful in leading IT of global companies such as Adani Enterprises, Masan Group, IBM and more.
CMS Info Systems was formed in 2009 following an investment by the Blackstone Group, in partnership with Rajiv Kaul (ex-CEO Microsoft India) to acquire a majority stake in certain key businesses of CMS Computers.
In 2011, CMS Info Systems acquired Securitrans India Private Limited (SIPL), the second largest cash management company in India, thus consolidating its position as the leading cash management services company in India and today is the fifth largest in the world.
