Deepak Ohri, visionary hospitality executive, announced his resignation as Managing Director of lebua Hotels and Resorts , the brand he founded and established as a luxury leader in Southeast Asia. During his time as managing director, Ohri dedicated his career to making lebua a well-known name in the global luxury hotel industry – with success. He will remain in office as managing director until the end of the year.

“We would like to thank Deepak for his commitment and achievements at lebua,” said Narawadee Bualert, President of lebua. “During Deepak’s tenure, lebua has become a market leader in the luxury hospitality space thanks to his determination and natural instincts. Deepak has made a name for our company “We look forward to continuing his legacy and wish Deepak all the best in his future endeavors.”

During his time as Managing Director of lebua – the first luxury brand in Southeast Asia – Ohri set new industry standards and created the first “vertical destination”. Ohri, known worldwide for its luxury food and beverage concepts and unparalleled service, has announced the opening of the The highest luxury rooftop restaurant in the world, the Sirocco at lebua Bangkok , crossed further boundaries and subsequently opened two more flagship restaurants, both of which were awarded two Michelin stars each.

Under Ohri’s leadership, lebua, which now has five properties in India, Thailand and New Zealand, was named the world’s leading all-suite hotel by the World Travel Awards and continues to rank in the top 1 percent of companies worldwide in terms of customer satisfaction.

Ohri is already planning its next step – a luxury ‘hybrid’ hotel brand to be launched in the United States. “It has been my privilege to serve as the founder and CEO of lebua for the past 20 years,” said Ohri. “I am proud of what we have achieved. I could never have done it without the support of the entire team. I’m looking forward to the next chapter.”

Since founding lebua in 2003, Ohri has also become a leader in management and luxury hospitality, whose insights are sought after worldwide. Ohri was recognized by the International Hospitality Institute as one of the Global Top Most Inspirational Executives in Travel and Hospitality and one of the 100 Most Powerful People in Global Hospitality. He has also lectured at leading educational institutions such as Columbia University , NYU Stern Business School and Harvard Business School. Additionally, Ohri is Executive in Residence in Entrepreneurship and Innovation and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Pino Global Entrepreneurship Center and board member of CIBER (Center for International Business and Education) at Florida International University College of Business .
