Bandhan Bank, a Kolkata-based banking and financial services company, announced the appointment of Divya Krishnan as Additional Non-Executive Non-Independent Director of the bank, with effect from May 11, 2022.
According to the bank’s exchange filing, “We would like to inform you that the Board of Directors of Bandhan Bank Limited (the ‘Bank’), at its meeting held on May 1 1, 2022, on the basis of the recommendations of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee of the Board, has approved the appointment of Ms. Divya Krishnan (DlN:09276201) as an Additional Non-Executive Non-Independent Director [Nominee of Bandhan Financial Holdings Limited (‘BFHL’ or ‘NOFHC’), promoter of the Bank on the Board of the Bank, with effect from May 11,2022, in place of Mr. Ranodeb Roy (DIN: 003287 64), Non-executive Non-Independent Director of the Bank.”
Divya Krishnan is a finance and investment banking professional and currently a visiting faculty at Ashoka University. Krishnan was formerly Chief Investment Officer (CIO) and Head of Investment at SBI Mutual Fund. Prior to becoming CIO, Krishnan worked as a fund manager at SBI Funds. Post her voluntary exit from SBI in 2001, Krishnan has served as a consultant to a number of leading non-profits and NGOs. She worked closely with non-profit institutions, catalysing growth through impactful programs. She has been an invitee as Scholar-in-Residence by a leading private University in the US, guiding students to effectively support developmental initiatives in India.
Krishnan was a member of the Working Group on Disabilities to develop the 12th Five Year Plan for the local state government. She has also served as a volunteer teacher for slum children in Mumbai and for primary school children in Hong Kong and in Trivandrum.
Krishnan, did her MBA at IIM Ahmedabad, and was awarded a prestigious industry scholarship for outstanding scholastic achievement during her time there. Krishnan is an alumnus of Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi and La Martiniere School, Kolkata.
