Flipkart appoints Krishna Raghavan as new Chief People Officer

Krishna Raghavan has been appointed as Chief HR Officer of Flipkart. The decision was taken a few months after Smriti Singh resigned from the position. The e-commerce major has found a replacement from within its leadership team.

Currently, Krishna Raghavan is the senior vice president of engineering at Flipkart. He will be taking charge of his new role as Head HR function from April onwards.

In his new role as Chief People Officer, he will be responsible for people, talent, and rewards, and directly report to CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy.

Before joining Flipkart Group, Raghavan was the vice president, engineering at Future Ecommerce Infrastructure, having more than 10 years’ experience in product companies across the United States and India.

Raghavan had been working closely with the product and services aspect of the business until now. Raghavan’s appointment as the CPO reiterates that professionals from non HR backgrounds are also now being chosen to not only be a part of the function but lead it. How he uses his experience and puts his business acumen to develop more relevant and effective talent strategies for Flipkart is something to look forward to.
