Former Kinara Capital CTO, Jijy Oommen, has joined Aavas Financiers as CTO. Formerly known as AU Housing Finance, the company is primarily engaged in the business of providing housing loans to customers belonging to the low and middle-income segment in semi-urban and rural areas.
In her new role, Oommen will be focusing on leveraging new-age technologies and will also look at digital transformation at the finance company.
Oommen is a seasoned technology leader with over 23 years of experience in the BFSI industry. In leadership roles, Oommen has worked with companies such as Manappuram Finance and Bajaj Capital where she spent more than 16 years managing technology for retail banking, wealth management, etc and moved on as Group CIO.
In her last assignment at Kinara Capital as CTO, Oommen managed the technology behind the MSME lending platform and has also deployed various technology projects and digital initiatives.
Oommen holds an MTech – IT from BITS Pilani, and an Executive Management Training in Information Technology from Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. She has completed her Bachelor of Computer Science from Annamalai University and a Master’s degree in Banking & Insurance Management from Annamalai University.
