GRAB appoints Shantanu Bhattacharya as Head of HR

GRAB, a logistics solution company, announced the appointment of Shantanu Bhattacharya to head the HR vertical of the company.

Shantanu has been in the corporate industry for over 20 years and has a long enriched career in Human Resources with various global MNCs and Indian conglomerates. He has acquired specific skills and competencies in HR with an exposure into building the right culture, managing performance, engagement, capability development, leadership development and coaching, leadership hiring, talent management, OD interventions, restructuring, M&A deals with strategic HR interventions to support business growth. 

He has worked with diversified industry segments, like Telecom Services, Technology, IT-enabled services in Healthcare, Engineering, Financial Services and Media. Shantanu has been associated with organizations like GE, Nokia, ABP Group, Reliance ADAG and NISA Global. Before joining GRAB, Shantanu was CHRO and Vice President at NISA Global.  

In his newly appointed role, Shantanu will be responsible for the company’s HR vertical as a whole and will look into functions like talent acquisition and retention, employee engagement, legal compliance and vigilance, admin and payroll.

Shantanu will manage a workforce of 6,000 GRAB staff as well as oversee the frontline rider fleet of GRAB. The company has one of the largest fleet size in the country of over 1 lakh gig workers, the statement said.

Commenting on Shantanu’s appointment, Nishant Vora, Co-founder and Director of Grab, said, “We welcome Shantanu to the GRAB team.
