India’s largest City Gas Distribution (CGD) Company, Gujarat Gas Limited, announced the appointment of Raj Kumar as Chairman of the Board, with effect from February 21, 2023.
According to the company’s exchange filing, “As per Regulation 30 of SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, and in continuation to our letter dated 22nd July, 2022 bearing number GGL/SEC/1037/2022, intimating appointment of Shri Raj Kumar, IAS as Director w.e.f. 21st July, 2022, we hereby further inform you that the Board of Directors have appointed Shri Raj Kumar, IAS, Chief Secretary, Government of Gujarat as Chairman on the Board of Gujarat Gas Limited w.e.f. 21st February, 2023.”
Raj Kumar, IAS is a Gujarat Cadre officer of Indian Administrative Services belonging to 1987 batch. He possesses a degree of B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering and M. Sc. in Public Policy.
As an IAS officer, Raj Kumar has worked in various capacities covering a very wide spectrum of Government departments, both at State and Central level. Presently, he is the Chief Secretary to Government of Gujarat. Before being appointed as Chief Secretary, to Government of Gujarat, Raj Kumar, IAS served as Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, Government of Gujarat, Secretary, Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence, Govt of India. He has been Chairman/Managing Director/ Director in many Central & State PSUs, during his tenure in government service.
