India Steel Works Limited announced the appointment of Varun S. Gupta, Managing Director of the company, as Chief Financial Officer, effective March 22, 2022.
According to the company’s exchange filing, “the Board of Directors of the Company, at its Meeting held on today j.e Monday, March 21, 2022, has considered and approved the appointment of Shri Varun S. Gupta, the existing Managing Director of the Company, as the Chief Financial Officer of the Company with effect from the start of business hours on 22nd March, 2022.”
Varun Gupta is a graduate in Business administration from the Bond University, Gold Coast, Australia. He started his Career as a sales representative in Australia and later joined the Company in 2007 as a Management Trainee. On December 29, 2008 he was appointed as Management Executive. On 17 December, 2009 he was appointed as an Additional Director by the Board and appointed as Executive Director w.e.f 1.07.2010 for a period of 3 years.& has been re-appointed from time to time thereafter, He was reappointed as the Executive Director effective 20th August, 2021 for a period of 3 years: He was the CEO of the Company up to 13.11.2071 and was appointed as the Managing Director w.e.f 15.11.2021 for a period of 3 years. He is looking after financing, productions, sales, purchases etc., and has been successfully leading the business of the Company under supervision’ of the Board of Directors.
India Steel Works Limited is founded in 1959 by Harbanslal Gupta as India Steel Industries, with a plant for manufacturing bright bars & several other products in Central Mumbai with a capacity of about 4000 tons per annum. In 2009, the founder and Chairman of the company, Harbanslal Gupta, passes away. Ashwin Gupta is appointed Executive Chairman and Sudhir Gupta as Managing Director of the company.
