INEOS Styrolution India appoints Sandra Martyres to its Board

INEOS Styrolution India Limited announced the appointment of Sandra Martyres to its Board of Directors, effective May 16, 2022.

According to the company’s exchange filing, “Due to the vacancy caused by completion of Ms. Ryna Karani as an Independent Woman Director, the Board has appointed Ms. Sandra Martyres (DIN: 00798406) as an Additional Director and Independent Woman Director, w.e.f May 16, 2022.”

Sandra Martyres holds a Master’s Degree in Economics from Bombay University; a Diploma in Business Administration; is a CAIIB & has a double certification in Commercial French from Alliance Francaise de Paris and the Chambre de Commerce et Industrie de Paris. She has a banking career spanning over 35 years. She started with Indian Bank where she worked in various capacities covering retail banking, trade finance, Foreign Exchange dealing. Thereafter she joined Societe Generale from where she retired as Deputy CEO – India. She received trainings in the Bank’s offices in London, Paris, Singapore, Hong Kong and an Investment Banking Training at Kellogg’s in Chicago. During her tenure with Societe Generale, she was actively involved in the bank’s foray into CSR, Financial Inclusion etc. She also headed the Indian Chapter of SG Feminin – a global initiative of the Societe Generale group to promote diversity in the workplace. Besides, she was a Director on the Boards of ALD Automotive India P Ltd and SG Wealth Management Services P. Ltd. (subsidiaries of the Societe Generale Group).

Post her retirement she has held the positions of Advisor to Societe Generale, Chairperson of the Board of Bank One Mauritius and Trustee Director of SBI Mutual Fund. She is currently an Independent Director on the Boards Of Novartis India Ltd. Franklin Templeton Trustee Services P Ltd and HNI India Office P. Ltd, in addition to being a Managing Committee Member of Alliance Française Mumbai.

Styrolution ABS (India) Ltd was earlier known as INEOS ABS (India) was originally incorporated as ABS Plastics in the year 1973 then changed its name to ABS Industries. The erstwhile ABS Industries now INEOS ABS (India) is a pioneer in developing the market for the versatile engineering thermoplastic material – Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) in India, when it started its operation in 1978 by manufacturing and marketing ABS polymer under the brand name of ABSOLAC.
