K S Vijay Kumar is reported to have resigned from his role as Global Director – Human Resources, for RFCL (an Avantor Performance Materials business). It is learnt that he is moving on for personal reasons, and would be exiting the company by end of this month.

Vijay has been leading the Human Resource function for RFCL for about 7 years (since October 2005), and has seen the transition of the company from being a Ranbaxy business to an ICICI Venture company, and more recently as an Avantor group company. In March 2011, Avantor Performance Materials completed the acquisition of RFCL.

RFCL, after being acquired by ICICI Ventures in 2005, had been seeing rapid growth through a series of acquisitions – some of them being Wipro Biomed, Alved Pharma, Bremer Pharma, etc. Vijay is credited to have effectively lead the people initiatives taking into account the on-going transitions, overseas acquisitions, de-mergers, etc. During his tenure the company has been ranked amongst the Best Companies to Work for in India in 2012, in a study conducted by The Great Place to Work® Institute in partnership with The Economic Times. This has been the third year that the company has been featured amongst the Best Companies to Work for in India.

Vijay is a 1979-batch TISS (Tata Institute of Social Sciences) alumni and has spent over 30 years of his career with leading brands in FMCG, Pharma, Telecom & Life sciences sectors. He was previously associated with Bharti Televentures (as Vice President – HR), Pepsico (as Vice President – HR), Xerox (as General Manager – Staff Affairs), Dr. Reddy’s Labs (General Manager –HR) and Asian Paints (as Plant Personnel Manager).
