Lloyds Technology Centre has appointed Shirish Tatikonda as its new AI Lead in Hyderabad, reinforcing the UK-based banking group’s growing focus on artificial intelligence capabilities across its global operations.
Shirish, who joins from Walmart Global Tech, brings over 20 years of experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and scalable platform engineering. He has previously held leadership roles at Target Corporation and IBM Research Labs, contributing to large-scale AI initiatives involving computer vision and natural language processing.
In his new role, Shirish will lead Lloyds Technology Centre’s AI team in India and work closely with the Group’s global AI Centre of Excellence, which now comprises over 200 experts. His responsibilities will include developing AI capabilities locally and contributing to key AI-driven initiatives within the Lloyds Banking Group.
“Shirish brings a rare combination of deep technical expertise and strategic leadership,” said Ranil Boteju, Chief Data and Analytics Officer at Lloyds Banking Group. “His experience in building scalable AI platforms and delivering measurable business value will be instrumental as we continue to embed AI across our products and services.”
Sirisha Voruganti, CEO and MD of Lloyds Technology Centre, noted the appointment aligns with the Centre’s broader growth trajectory. “Shirish will play an important role in driving our innovative applications using AI as well as the skills and capabilities needed to chart our next phase of growth strategy in the Group,” she said.

Lloyds Technology Centre, based in Hyderabad, is part of Lloyds Banking Group and serves as a key technology hub supporting the Group’s digital transformation. While the centre does not offer financial services in India, it plays a vital role in developing data, AI, and engineering capabilities for the UK-based banking group.
