Martin Chee appointed new MD of IBM Singapore

IBM announced the appointment of Martin Chee as the Managing Director of IBM Singapore, effective April 2020. Martin will report to Patricia Yim, General Manager, IBM ASEAN.

In his new role, Martin will harness his experience in spearheading IBM’s digital transformation initiatives in Singapore. He will be responsible for business growth and strengthening IBM’s partnership with clients for a cloud and cognitive-led digital transformation of their businesses.

Martin holds two decades of vast experience working with IBM. He joined the company in 2001 in the Software Group in Singapore. Through his career with IBM, Martin has held various leadership positions in Services, Software, Enterprise in the Asia Pacific region. Most recently, Martin was Vice President of Analytics, IBM Asia Pacific.

“Martin will play a key role in helping clients leverage disruptive technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, Quantum and world-class security,” said Patricia Yim, General Manager, IBM ASEAN.

Martin holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the National University of Singapore and started his career as an Intellectual Property lawyer before switching to the IT industry.
