Microsoft India has appointed Amrita Thapar as its new Chief Marketing Officer. Prior to this, Thapar served Amazon Web Services (AWS) as India communications lead.
Prior to that, Thapar was the vice president – corporate communications and content marketing at Genpact. Her stint with Genpact lasted more than 13 years. She has also worked for Bennett Coleman and Co. Ltd. (Times Group).
A journalist by training, Thapar has more than 15 years of experience in marketing and communications. She has worked for companies across industries like broadcast television, media strategy, professional services, and big tech. Her expertise lies in brand storytelling, content and digital operations, social media, digital campaigns and corporate communications.
