Mitron TV announces appointment of Shyamanga Barooah as Head of Content Strategy, Biswarup Gooptu as Head of Partnerships

Mitron TV, a short-format video app startup based out of Bengaluru, has appointed Shyamanga Barooah as Head of Content Strategy and senior journalist Biswarup Gooptu as Head of Partnerships & Policy, according to ET report.

In his new role, Gooptu will focus on driving public policy for Mitron TV and building government alliances. Barooah will be responsible for developing and optimizing a tailored content strategy, whilst driving the best content practices for internal and external stakeholders, according to a statement.

Shyamanga Barooah has over 20 years of experience in journalism, content creation and management. Prior to this role, Barooah was Content Operation Head of Helo and Chief Editor of News Republic, which is a part of ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok.

Barooah has also worked with Cheetah Mobile, India Today, Times Internet and Hindustan Times.

Biswarup Gooptu has over 15 years of experience in journalism working with The Economic Times, Reuters and The Telegraph.

Founded by Anish Khandelwal and Shivank Agarwal, Mitron TV is a short-format video app that allows users to create, upload, view and share one-minute videos. The startup recently raised $5 million funding led by Nexus Venture Partners, 3one4 Capital and angel investors like Deep Kalra, Amrish Rau, and Jitendra Gupta.
