Months after CEO, Paytm Money CTO and Operations Head resign

Following the departure of Paytm Money CEO Pravin Jadhav from the company last month, its Chief Technology Officer and Operations Head have also resigned from their positions.

Fintech unicorn Paytm has been witnessing a lot of departures from the company’s top management recently. The company which has aggressively spread its operations into various fields is now experiencing back-to-back resignations from the top management of its subsidiary Paytm Money.

According to an Entrackr report, after the resignation of the Chief Executive Officer Pravin Jadhav, Paytm Money’s Chief Technology Officer Suresh Vasudevan and Operations Head Beejish Pillai have quit the company.

As per the report by the news website, both the executives have put in their papers and are serving their notice periods.

“Both decided to resign parallelly with Jadhav for similar reasons,” said one of the sources mentioned in the report.

While it is not yet confirmed as to why the duo left the company, Jadhav’s resignation was driven by differences with the company regarding ESOPs, annual salary, and remuneration.

Both the executives have been associated with the company since January last year and were the first few employees who helped Jadhav establish the firm.

Although media reports are floating regarding their resignation, neither of them has updated their LinkedIn profiles yet.

A Paytm spokesperson confirmed their resignations. “Our CTO put in his papers back in January and is presently serving his notice period. The operations head was shuttling between our headquarters and Mumbai and has decided to move back home due to personal reasons. We have already filled these positions and have charted out an expansion plan.”

Paytm Money is one of the major bets by Vijay Shekhar Sharma after Paytm Mall. It has emerged as a leader in the online wealth management space. The company recently claimed to have over Rs 5,000 crore assets under its management.
