ONGC appoints Gudey Srinivas to its Board

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited announced the appointment of Gudey Srinivas as Government Nominee Director, with effect from June 14, 2022.

According to the company’s exchange filing, “it is hereby informed that the Board has approved the appointment of Shri Gudey Srinivas, AS&FA, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MOP&NG), as Government Nominee Director on 16.06.2022 and the said appointment is effective from 14.06.2022.”

Gudey Srinivas, IAS is Additional Secretary & Financial Adviser, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution and holding charge of Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas. An officer of 1990 batch of Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Odisha Cadre, he has worked both in Central Government and Odisha State Government.

In Central Government, he has worked as Joint Secretary and Director, Ministry of Mines and PS to Minister of State for Rural Development. During the tenure as JS in the Mines Ministry, he drafted the new Mines and Mineral (Development & Regulation) Act and helped in obtaining approvals of Cabinet and Standing Committee for the proposed legislation.

In the State Government of Odisha, he has worked as Principal Secretary / Secretary to Commerce, Transport and Civil Aviation, Labour, Steel and Mines Departments. As Principal Secretary Commerce & Transport enabled the port expansion at Dhamra and Gopalpur which are executed through PPP mode by State Government of Odisha. In the case of Mahanadi Riverine Port and Subama Rekha port Pre project activities like allotment of land etc., are expedited. Apart from that he has worked in the field postings as Revenue Divisional Commissioner, Collector, District Magistrate, Sub-Divisional Magistrate in Government of Odisha. In the IFAD assisted Tribal Development Project, remotely located in Kashipur block of Rayagada district, negotiated several challenges and ensured successful implementation of the project, thereby IFAD mission extended funding for two more years beyond initial period of closure. He has also worked as Managing Director, Markfed; Project Director, ICDS in the undivided State Government of Andhra Pradesh while on deputation.

He has done B.Tech. (Civil Engg.), M.E. (Civil Engg.) and Management Programme in Public Policy from Indian School of Business.

Earlier, he was on the Board of Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL), Hindustan Zinc Limited (HZL), Bharat Aluminium Company (BALCO) and Orissa Rail Infrastructural Development Limited (ORIDL). Presently, he is on the Board of Food Corporation of India (FCI) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL).
