Port Indigo launches Indian subsidiary..

imagePort Indigo, Inc., a US-based leading mobile solutions company, has hired Kall Ramanathan as the Country Head for its India subsidiary.

Kall Ramanathan has over 25 years of experience in IT services, ISP, Media and Telecom industries. As Country Head of India Operations, Kall’s primary focus will be to create and establish a strong brand for Port Indigo in India, and to develop partnerships & strategic alliances with best-of-breed mobile companies, carriers, content providers, and other players in the mobile ecosystem.

Prior to joining Port Indigo, Kall served as the Senior Vice President & Head of the VAS business at World Phone India, where he was responsible for strategy and execution of key business initiatives. Kall has an MBA in Marketing and an engineering degree from The Indian Institute of Science.

Port Indigo is a mobile products and services company that is in the business of creating radical technology that enhances the lifestyle of the mobile generation. Port Indigo India’s registered office is in Mumbai. The Indian entity is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Port Indigo, Inc. USA, which is an offshoot of Thaumaturgix, Inc., an 18 year old IT services company based in New York City.

It seems that Port Indigo, is on a hiring mode to set up its team in India. As on 6th Feb 2012, we came across a job opening for the position of Director of Technology / Product Manager, with a reporting to Head India Operations listed on their web site.  

Key focus of the Director of Technology / Product Manager position would be to – Refine the product strategy and manage the entire lifecycle of the product from design and planning to production and market. Product development will include hardware design & manufacturing, mobile applications, Internet/cloud-based software development and UI components.
