Ramesh Ramanathan, Co-founder-Janaagraha Joins MindTree Board

MindTree Limited, has appointed Ramesh Ramanathan as an Independent Director to its Board of Directors with effect from May 2, 2012. Ramesh is a co-founder of Janaagraha Centre for Citizenship and Democracy, a non-profit organization focused on transforming quality of life in Urban India, Chairman of Janalakshmi Social Services and is also the National Technical Advisor, Government of India for the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission, the country’s flagship urban mission.

“Ramesh will be a stellar addition to the MindTree Board. He brings visionary thinking, capacity to question status quo and personal credibility to effect change. I am very pleased that he accepted our invitation” said Subroto Bagchi, Chairman, MindTree Limited.

Speaking on his appointment, Ramesh Ramanathan said “It is my honour to join the MindTree Board. I have known MindTree for a long time and have high regards for the management team. I look forward to contributing to the organization’s success and support the leadership team in its future endeavors.”

Ramesh Ramanathan has co-authored the book titled, ‘Urban Poverty Alleviation in India’ and was previously the MD and Head of European Corporate Derivatives in Citibank. Ramesh holds a MS degree in Physics from Birla Institute of Technology, Pilani and an MBA from Yale; he has travelled across the world in various capacities and also a Certified Financial Analyst from AIMR. He was nominated as one of the Young Global Leaders by the World Economic Forum in 2007.
