Private sector lender RBL Bank announced the appointment of Buvanesh Tharashankar as Head – Finance, with effect from August 14, 2023.
According to the bank’s exchange filing, “Pursuant to Regulation 30, Schedule III, Part A, Para A (7) and other applicable provisions of the SEBI Listing Regulations, as amended, we hereby inform you that Mr. Buvanesh Tharashankar has been appointed as Head – Finance, to be part of the Senior Management of the Bank w.e.f. August 14, 2023.”
Buvanesh Tharashankar is a Chartered accountant with over 28 years of experience in Banking, of which more than 20 years have been in various leadership positions. He is joining RBL bank from Jana Small finance bank (Jana) where he was the Chief Financial Officer, responsible for the Finance function including Investor Relations. He has a strong background in controls, policies and audit processes, business planning and analytics to augment business strategies. He has successfully led re-engineering and cost management initiatives.
Prior to Jana, he was with Citi for over 26 years, in various leadership and senior positions. His last assignment with Citi was Cluster Controller for South Asia, covering India, Bangladesh & Sri Lanka, driving statutory audits and regulatory inspections, Local regulatory reporting, Legal entity management, Annual ICAAP exercise and Balance sheet controls.
