Indraprastha Gas Limited has appointed Sanjay Kumar as Managing Director of the company, effective March 25, 2022. He succeeds A. K. Jana, who has resigned from the role of Managing Director and Director of the company, effective immediately.
According to the company’s exchange filing, it said, “This is inform that Shri Sanjay Kumar has been nominated by GAIL (India) Limited as Managing Director of lndraprastha Gas Limited. He has taken over charge from Shri A.K. Jana w.e.f. March 25, 2022. Shri A.K. Jana has ceased to be a Director and Managing Director w.e.f. March 25, 2022.”
Sanjay Kumar is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur and also holds a Master of Business Administration degree. He is having over three decades of experience in various roles across domains including Gas Marketing, LNG Sourcing/Trading/Shipping, Business Development, Gas Transmission, Projects Management & Gas Pipeline Operation & Maintenance. Prior to joining IGL as Managing Director, he was Executive Director (Marketing – Gas) at GAIL (India) Limited.
Indraprastha Gas Limited is an Indian natural gas distribution company that supplies natural gas as cooking and vehicular fuel. Established in 1998, the company operates primarily in Delhi. It is a Joint-Venture of GAIL, Bharat Petroleum, and the Government of Delhi to implement the City Gas Distribution Network.
