Schaeffler India Limited, a leading industrial and automotive supplier, announced the appointment of Jens Schüler as an Additional Director in the category of Non-Executive Non-Independent Director on the company’s Board, with effect from January 1, 2024.
According to the company’s exchange filing, “Pursuant to the recommendation by Nomination and Remuneration Committee, the Board of Directors has appointed Mr. Jens Schüler (DIN: 10422738), as an Additional Director (Non-Executive Non-Independent Director) of the Company effective from January 1, 2024, subject to the approval of shareholders of the Company in the ensuing Annual General Meeting of the Company or within a time period of three months from the date of appointment, whichever is earlier, liable to retire by rotation.”
Jens Schüler studied economics at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and started his career in 2002 at Deutsche Börse AG as Specialist XETRA Market Supervision.
In 2003, Schüler has joined Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket GmbH & Co. KG as Assistant to the Board of Directors. This was followed by professional stages in the Aftermarket business, in which he was responsible for strategic projects within the sales organization in a leading position.
In 2009, Schüler was appointed to the Schaeffler Global Board of the Automotive Aftermarket business unit and, as Vice President, was responsible for strategic planning and project management. Two years later, he took over the management of the Automotive Aftermarket business unit in North America. In 2014, he was additionally given responsibility for the Aftermarket business in South America.
With the establishment of Automotive Aftermarket as an Executive Board function at Schaeffler, in 2018, Schüler took over as Head of Global Sales and Marketing.
