Strava appoints Anita Patwardhan Butler as Chief Design Officer

Strava, the connected fitness subscription platform, announced the hiring of Anita Patwardhan Butler as its first Chief Design Officer. 

In her role, Anita Patwardhan Butler will oversee all aspects of design and innovation at Strava, including brand design and marketing design, product design, research and content creation, helping the brand to inspire active people to move in more than 195 countries worldwide.

With over 15 years of experience, Anita Patwardhan Butler most recently served as Vice President of Product Design at Twitter where she was responsible for designing the consumer experience for the company. Prior to Twitter, Anita Patwardhan Butler was Design Director for Facebook Stories Experience and held senior roles at Ancestry, Sephora, Walmart, and Hotwire.

Anita Patwardhan Butler will be part of Strava’s leadership team and will report to Michael Horvath , CEO and co-founder of Strava.

Michael Horvath  recently announced  that he was conducting the search for his successor as CEO with members of Strava’s board of directors. He is committed to ensuring Strava’s long-term success as a member of the Board of Directors and will remain Chief Executive Officer of Strava until a successor is appointed.

Michael Horvath said: “Until my successor is appointed, I remain more committed and convinced than ever that Strava is the platform that will inspire the world to be more active. We are looking for the next CEO who can help make this ambition a priority and we will not rush our decision, we will be scrupulous and make sure we identify the right leader.”
