Sula Vineyards Limited, a wine producer and seller, announced the appointment of Abhishek Kapoor as Chief Financial Officer of the company, with effect from August 28, 2023. Karan Vasani has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer, with effect from October 1, 2023.
Abhishek Kapoor is a seasoned finance leader with more than two decades of experience building and leading teams. He has rich experience working in FMCG, Media, and Auto space and has demonstrated his capabilities in diverse areas, including Profit and Loss (P&L), Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A), Financial Planning, Business and Financial Performance Monitoring, Financial Accounting, Controlling, Costing & Budgeting, Funds Management, Taxation, and Liasoning with Government Authorities and Banks etc., according to the statement.
“Abhishek’s journey has taken him through esteemed organizations, including Godrej Consumer Products, Pepsi Co., JK Tyres, and HT Media, in multiple geographies. Abhishek joins us from Wagh Bakri Tea Group (Gujarat Tea Processors and Packers Limited), where he holds the esteemed position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Under his strategic financial guidance, the company has achieved notable milestones and solidified its position in the market,” as per the company’s statement.
Karan Vasani is the Chief Winemaker with more than a decade of expertise in winemaking and leading teams at Sula. He holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce from University of Mumbai and a graduate diploma in viticulture and oenology from Lincoln University, New Zealand.
Karan was honoured with the prestigious WSET Level 2 Intermediate Certificate and Level 3 Advance Certificate in Wines and Spirits by the Wines and Spirit Education Trust Limited. Karan’s illustrious career includes valuable financial and operational experience gained from working with esteemed organizations such as CRISIL Limited and Cuvaison Estate Wines. Karan plays a pivotal role at Sula where he oversees key operations including winemaking, winery operations and viticulture, according to the statement.
Under Karan’s leadership, Sula has made striking progress in manufacturing operations and winemaking quality. His passion and expertise have contributed significantly to the success and growth of the company in the wine industry, the statement said.
