Telecom Industry top level exits ..

Telecom industry has been seeing exits of key professional at leadership levels starting Jan 2012.

Reliance Communication:

Syed Safawi, the head of the wireless business of Reliance Communications, India’s second largest telecom company  by customers, will leave the company this month following the expiry of his contract.

Bharti Airtel:

Atul Bindal, the former president of Bharti Airtel’s mobile business in India, has quit to head the Asia and Africa operations of Khosla Ventures, a $3-billion fund promoted by Vinod Khosla, an Indian-born American venture capitalist and an influential personality in Silicon Valley.

Aircel:

Chief Operating Officer Gurdeep Singh at Aircel, the country’s fifth-largest GSM operator with over 60 million customers, has resigned following group chief technology officer (CTO) Malickarjun Rao in what is being seen as a silent restructuring exercise of its top deck to overcome the challenges of a complex reporting structure.

After the exit of its Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer, the company’s Chief Marketing Officer Rahul Saighal has also quit, executives aware of the development said. This is the third high-profile exit in the mobile phone company within a month.

The country’s fifth-largest telecom company, with over 60 million customers, has elevated Anupam Vasudev, who was a regional business head, as its chief marketing officer.
