Tesla India has appointed Chithra Thomas as Country HR Leader. Chithra has earlier worked at Walmart and Reliance Retail.
Prior to this, Chithra was the Vice President and Head of HR- Reliance Online Initiative( AJIO), where she brought on board in a leadership role as the first employee to set up the e-Commerce B2B/B2C and technology business of Reliance Retail. She lead a 90-member team in the organizational design, total rewards, talent acquisition, learning & development and delivery of core HR operations, systems and capabilities for 25,000 employees across 29 states in India.
At Walmart, Chithra was the Head of HR Walmart Global Sourcing and Walmart labs. She hired and led the team in working with government authorities, legal counsels, finance, real estate and business leaders to setup the business and core HR functions while ensuring compliance with Indian laws and Walmart process. She undertook global roles in talent management COE’s in China and Bangladesh.
“Tesla India is moving full speed ahead with building local team. We are excited to see the progress. Hoping to see you (Musk) in India when @Tesla delivers the first cars,” Tesla Club India said in a tweet.
Chithra holds an MBA in Human Resources Management from Loyola Institute of Business Administration, Chennai.
