Union Bank of India appoints Ramasubramanian S to its Board

Union Bank of India announced the appointment of Ramasubramanian S as Executive Director on the company’s Board, with effect from November 21, 2022.

According to the company’s exchange filing, “we wish to inform you that the Central Government vide notification no. eF.No. 4/6/2021-BO.I dated November 21, 2022 has appointed Shri Ramasubramanian S., Chief General Manager, Canara Bank as the Executive Director of the Bank for a period of three years with effect from the date of assumption of office i.e. from November 21, 2022 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.”

Ramasubramanian S. assumed office as Executive Director of Union Bank of India w.e.f. from November 21, 2022. Prior to joining Union Bank of India, he was Chief General Manager of Canara Bank. He has to his credit more than 25 years of rich experience in various facets of Banking like Corporate Credit, MSME/Retail Credit, International Credit and forex. He holds a Bachelor degree in Science along with CAIIB qualification.

Throughout his banking career, he has worked at different locations and branch categories including Prime Corporate Credit Wing, Large Corporate, Mid Corporate Branches and Hong Kong Branch of Canara Bank and administrative offices including Head Office, the statement said.

He is one of the Top Executive Grade officers who underwent Leadership Development Strategy Program organized by Financial Services Institutions Bureau (erstwhile Banks Board Bureau). He is in the standing Committee for Corporate Credit of IBA. He is also nominated to participate in Kamath Committee on COVID related loan Restructuring, according to the statement.
