Purple Quarter, a tech leadership search firm, has closed yet another Tech Head role for Urban Company, closing their mandate for Vice President of Engineering. The Bespoke CTO Search firm had previously closed Rishabhdhwaj Singh as VP of Engineering for their Supply vertical, who joined in May this year.

Ananda Matthur joined Urban Company’s marketplace vertical as the VP of Engineering on 15th September. In his new role, Ananda is responsible for ensuring the best match experience for customers and the firm’s partners. Right from pairing a customer request to a suitable partner, to ensuring a smooth fulfilment experience, Ananda’s role involves complex technical decision-making, scaling for a strong tech platform and ensuring the products are designed with maximum flexibility, the statement said.

“I welcome Ananda as VP Engineering. I am confident that his rich experience will prove incredibly valuable in doubling our marketplace experience and aid the team’s growth efforts. I’d like to also thank Purple Quarter for their continued partnership in finding the right leadership for us,” said Raghav Chandra, Urban Company Co-Founder & CPTO.

Prior to joining Urban Company, Ananda was the Director of Engineering at Flipkart. With around 15 years of experience, of which 10 were at Flipkart, Ananda believes in crafting highly scalable, intelligent systems and has an affinity towards machine learning.
