Federal Bank, one of the leading private sector banks in India, announced the appointment of Venkatraman Venkateswaran as Chief Financial Officer, effective from May 18, 2021.
“In terms of the captioned subject matter and the above referred Regulation, it is hereby informed that the Board of Directors of the Bank at its meeting held today, has approved the appointment of Mr. Venkatraman Venkateswaran (ACA No.044214), who is currently working as Group President, as Chief Financial Officer and Key Managerial Personnel of the Bank with effect from Tuesday, May 18, 2021,” according to the exchange filing.
The Board also accorded its approval for the appointment of Venkatraman Venkateswaran as Key Managerial Personnel of the Bank pursuant to the provisions of Section 203 of the Companies Act, 2013. As Chief Financial Officer, Venkatraman Venkateswaran will report directly to the Managing Director & CEO of the Bank, the filing said.
Ashutosh Khajuria, Executive Director who was also the CFO will, post this planned transition, be responsible for Treasury, Credit & Collections, Strategic initiatives and establish the ESG journey of the Bank, the exchange filing said.
Venkatraman Venkateswaran is a Chartered Accountant qualified with graduate degrees in Law and Economics.
Venkatraman has got more than three decades of professional expertise in Banking and Compliance, with international exposure. He is also equipped with an Executive MBA from Indian Institute of Management. He has got vast experience working with HSBC and SCB in Global Finance Operations, Financial Compliance, Operations, Technology and support functions in various capacities.
Venkatraman has also handled senior positions responsible for financial management, reporting and financial control in large corporates like Indian Rayon & Industries (Aditya Birla Group), the Singapore based Kewalram Chanrai Group and as CFO with Invensys India Pvt Ltd.
