Assocham, India’s primary business association representing businesses, state chambers, and business associations, has appointed Vineet Agarwal, Managing Director of logistics major Transport Corporation of India Limited, as new President.
Agarwal replaces Dr. Niranjan Hiranandani, Co-Founder and MD, Hiranandani Group of Companies. Sumant Sinha, Chairman and Managing Director of ReNew Power, is the new Senior Vice-President of Assocham.
Commenting on the development, Vineet Agarwal, President of ASSOCHAM, said, “The post-pandemic period would be full of challenges and opportunities; I would work with all the stakeholders – industry, government, academic, civil society and the Assocham employees to leverage the unfolding opportunities.”
Agarwal holds a BS Economics, Industrial Management, Social Decision Sciences from Carnegie Mellon University, USA, and studied Owner/President Management from Harvard Business School.
