Viom Networks Chairman Subodh Bhargava Quits

It is reported that Mr. Subodh Bhargava, has quit as Chairman for Viom Networks. Viom Network, is an independent telecom infrastructure company  with pan India presence. The company is a joint venture between Tata Teleservices and Quippo, a Srei Group Enterprise / Kanoria’s. In 2009, Quippo Telecom Infrastructure Limited (QTIL) announced its partnership with Tata Teleservices Ltd. (TTSL) with the merger of their passive infrastructure businesses, resulting in the formation of Viom Networks.

Mr. Bhargava , is a senior and distinguished professional and sits on the board of a number of companies. He has been the Chairman of Tata Communications Limited, Wartsila India Limited and has served / is serving as Director on the boards of several Indian Corporates such as Tata Steel Limited; Tata Motors Limited ; Larsen & Toubro Ltd. ; Batliboi Limited ; Carborundum Universal Limited ; GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare Limited ; Samtel Color Limited ; SRF Limited and TRF Limited. Mr. Bhargava is the past President of CII and the Association of Indian Automobile Manufacturers; and the Vice President of the Tractor Manufacturers Association.

It is learnt that his resignation from his post as Chairman of Viom, comes post a graft probe where in certain allegations were levelled by some ex-employees including the company’s former company secretary against the former CEO and members of the Kanoria family. The allegations and the probe had been the subject of discord between the two sets of shareholders, the Tata’s and the Kanoria’s.
